Q. What is the normal leadtime to get a delivery out to a jobsite? A. Usually from inventory we are able to respond in 2 working days from the date the order is placed. Cash sales must be paid for prior to orders being pulled and delivered.
Special order imports from the mainland can involve long leadtimes. Different products and different shipping methods carry varying leadtimes. Inquire with your salesperson as to the leadtimes involved on your specific order.
Q. Do you accept C.O.D. orders? A. Our drivers do not accept cash for payment of materials being delivered.
Q. Do you accept credit cards? A. Yes. Please check with your branch for procedures.
Q. Do you offer Homeplanning services? A. Yes. All branches have different methods and charge out fees and you should inquire with the sales personnel.
Q. Do you make quantity takeoffs off plans? A. Takeoffs for lumber and other framing related products are not typically done by branch personnel. Takeoffs for products like windows, doors, cabinets and hardware are usually done at the branches with some leadtime. Personnel may not be able to do a takeoff on the spot.
Q. I want to have a warranty on my Hi-Bor treated lumber. What do I have to do to get one? A. First of all Honsador Lumber does not issue warranties for treated lumber. All Hi-Bor treated lumber sold by Honsador, when used in qualifying construction, will meet the requirements of properly treated lumber and plywood. There are however certain rules and procedures for the installation of lumber at the site that you need to be aware of and we recommend that you become familiar with these issues before starting construction. Ask a sales representative for the name and number of the inspection party. Let them know you want to have a warranty and ask for the details then.
Q. Does your firm install decks? A. Our firm can assist you in determining your needs for a deck but the actual installation of our TREX decking and railing material should be done by a certified TREX Pro or licensed contractor. Contact your nearest Honsador Branch for a name and telephone number of the closest TREX Pro.
Q. What is OSB? A. OSB is a panel product, usually APA approved, manufactured using an engineered method of treating and gluing wood chips together under pressure.
The acronym stands for Oriented Strand Board. The panels are produced in varying thicknesses and usually in 4x8, 4x9 and 4x10 sizes. Applications include shear wall, roof and wall sheathing and floor decking. We sell the Louisiana Pacific Brand product which is a superior treated and manufactured product that has excellent edge swell properties and resistance to mold and mildew. TECHSHIELD manufactured by Louisiana Pacific reduces attic temperatures dramatically reducing inside room temperatures.
